We thought we would give some feedback on one of our systems we have installed recently for a customer showing how you can maximise the energy you produce and reduce your costs.
These figures were taken on 18/10/2022, where the forecast was very generous giving us autumn sun for good parts of the day. On the day we managed to utilise what we could from not only the generation but the battery storage as well.
This property had used the washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, immersion heater and even had the EV plugged into the EV charger (installed by Power Up EV) for some short time to utilise the green energy.
The solar generated just under 11KW, which charged the battery and picked up sufficient amount in the property.
The property consumed 18KW of energy and imported from the grid less than 1KW and exported 4.5 KW
Based on the 34p cap that has been introduced:
- Without Solar £6.00
- With Solar and Battery
- Import 0.74 x 0.34 = 25p
- Export 4.5 x 0.05 = 22.5p
Yesterday would cost 2.5p*
*This property has the advantage of cheap rate electricity so the savings were higher.
